Parma - Prologue

Shin Kamiya - a former G-Corporation lab experiment. He was the sole survivor of the top secret Parma project. The doctors working for G-Corporation were working on a substance nicknamed 'Parma' (Latin for target) which, basically allows the person who has been injected by the substance to detect a person who has acquired the Devil Gene and attack him/her if he/she is anywhere nearby. It was also rumored that the project was headed by none other than Kazuya Mishima himself in order to aid his plans of killing his son and reclaiming his Gene.

Shin's sole remembrance of his life as a lab rat was the elaborate tattoo that started from his left arm and extended to his left hand.

The Parma project failed, however, when Shin decided to bid G Corp and its experiments that violate human rights goodbye. He managed to come out alive, albeit heavily injured thanks to the soldiers guarding the perimeter. Getting out alive was one thing - survival was another. By escaping several obstacles that threatened his life and newfound freedom, Shin managed to move on with his life and start anew.

3 months after the proclamation of Jin Kazama's supposed death, Shin managed to secure an appointment with the new Zaibatsu head, Lars Alexandersson. He told the Swede of his 'findings'; "It's still working… The 'other sense', I mean. In this world, I've managed to sense 2 people who have the Devil Gene coursing through their veins - Kazuya Mishima… And his son who is supposed to be buried beneath the earth right now: Jin Kazama."

Lars didn't show his reactions to the 18 year old Japanese - however, Shin insisted. "My 'other sense' was never wrong, Alexandersson-san." He offered his assistance to the Zaibatsu as a 'hired help' (Shin chuckled) "in case anything happens" and a personal alliance to the Zaibatsu head.

Currently, Shin is struggling to finish his studies and with his jujutsu training in preparation for the incoming King of Iron Fist tournament, where he hopes to battle Jin Kazama for old times' sake and Kazuya Mishima for revenge.

In the past, Shin Kamiya was a normal person with a family, a group of trusted friends, wishes, hopes and dreams. He was a consistent student - not necessarily in the honor roll always but had grades that fair well. He had a knack for drawing - it's one of the things he frequently does when he has free time on his hands.

In middle school, a flyer posted on the class bulletin board caught his eye one day. It was advertising a dojo that taught a variety of basic martial arts (karate, jujutsu, taekwondo, etc.) to kids his age. Snatching the flyer, he immediately ran home after class and told his parents about it. Enthusiastic, Shin's parents agreed to sign him up for those classes. That began his thirst for the martial arts; every Saturday and Sunday he would visit the dojo and train vigorously. By the time he turned 15 (he started at around 13), he was already adept to a handful of forms from karate and taekwondo; but what captured his interest the most was jujutsu. He began asking and researching more about it and tried mastering moves that encompasses the said art. Pretty soon, he was known as the boy who both had brains and brawn.

Aside from martial arts, his knack for drawing gradually became a burning passion. After entering and winning competitions with his art, he finally decided to enter art school after college and fulfill his dream of becoming a mangaka or to be an illustrator for an animated series. He managed to buy himself art materials by working on commissions both in real life and online.

At the start of the war, his parents became casualties of war; his mother was crushed alive by falling chunks of cement while trying to save his ailing father when the bombings started. His father died of suffocation as he tried to save Shin's mother by moving away the blocks from her. It was a difficult time for the teen - the fact that he wasn't able to save his parents in time still weighs him down.
